Exhibition stand price Dubai: real AED costs for 2026

October 16, 2026 · 9 min readExhibition stand price Dubai: real AED costs for 2026

A 9 sqm custom exhibition stand at Dubai World Trade Centre costs about AED 55,000 to 90,000 all in. A shell scheme for the same 3x3 space runs AED 18,000 to 30,000. The difference is joinery, materials, lighting and labour, not floor area.

What drives exhibition stand price in Dubai

Size sets the floor, but five other factors move the number far more. Here is what changes the total when you compare exhibition stand design and build services in Dubai quotes for two stands of identical floor area.

Shell scheme vs custom build

The shell scheme vs custom exhibition stand Dubai decision is where most budgets are won or lost. A shell scheme is a rented modular package from the organiser, with walls, fascia board, carpet tiles and a name board. You add graphics, furniture and screens. A custom stand is designed, fabricated in a workshop and installed on site. That one choice usually splits the budget by three to four times.

Materials and joinery

Painted MDF is the cheapest solid finish. Laminate, veneer, acrylic, powder coated metal and stone effect panels each add cost, and curves, stepped ceilings and backlit niches add workshop hours. A flat painted wall may cost AED 350 per sqm of face. A veneered wall with a shadow gap and integrated lighting can reach AED 1,200 per sqm.

AV, lighting and power

A 3m x 2m LED wall rents for roughly AED 15,000 to 45,000 for a four day show, rigging and technicians included. Venue power, distribution boards and stand electricians are billed separately, usually AED 2,500 to 8,000 for a 9 to 18 sqm stand.

Graphics

Printed foamex is the budget option. Tension fabric lightboxes and vinyl floors cost more but travel well and can be reused. Budget AED 250 to 700 per sqm of graphics.

Venue logistics and labour

Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai both charge for power, rigging, waste removal and out of hours access. Install labour for a 36 sqm custom stand typically lands between AED 8,000 and 18,000 once overtime and trolley charges are added.

Real AED price bands by stand size

These are 2026 market bands for a four day Dubai show with standard hall access. Add 10 to 15 percent for double storey builds, very high ceilings or heavy AV.

On exhibition stand cost per square metre Dubai, shell scheme works out at AED 2,000 to 3,300 per sqm. Custom build starts near AED 6,000 to 10,000 per sqm at 9 sqm and settles around AED 5,500 to 8,800 per sqm at 50 sqm. Design, transport and the install crew are fixed costs, so the rate falls as the stand grows.

A worked example. A 9 sqm custom stand for a Dubai technology show: 3.5m back wall with a recessed screen, lockable store, two meeting stools, one 55 inch display, spotlights and vinyl floor. Built in the Jebel Ali workshop, installed overnight. Production and install total AED 62,000, plus around AED 4,500 in venue charges. That sits in the middle of the band, not the top. Design fees vs turnkey design and build

The exhibition stand design price on a standalone proposal in Dubai is usually AED 8,000 to 25,000 for a 9 to 36 sqm stand. You receive a concept, 3D visuals, technical drawings and a bill of quantities, then you tender the build out separately.

Turnkey design and build folds that into one contract. The design fee is absorbed into the build price, which is why a turnkey figure looks higher than a design only quote for the same stand.

What a turnkey package includes:

  • concept and 3D visuals with two revision rounds
  • technical drawings for venue approval and structural sign off
  • joinery, painting, flooring, ceiling and lighting built in our workshop
  • graphic design, print and application
  • delivery, installation and dismantling
  • storage between shows in Jebel Ali when you rebook

What it does not include: venue power, rigging permits, internet, hostess staff, furniture rental and stand cleaning. Ask for those as separate lines so every quote you compare covers the same scope. Exhibition stand design cost Dubai exhibitors see online is often design only, and that is the most common reason two prices look far apart.

Approvals, install costs and how long a stand takes

Allow eight to ten weeks for a custom stand at a major Dubai show. Design takes one to two weeks, venue approval about a week, fabrication three to four weeks, and site install two to four nights. This is the sequence we run from the Jebel Ali workshop.

  1. Brief and site check, 2 days. We confirm stand number, hall height, power position and rigging rules.
  2. Concept and 3D visuals, 5 to 7 days, with two revision rounds.
  3. Technical drawings and structural sign off, 4 to 5 days. Dubai venues want stamped drawings from an approved engineer, priced AED 1,500 to 4,000.
  4. Venue submission, 3 to 4 weeks before build day. Late plans attract express review fees and can be refused.
  5. Joinery and metalwork production in Jebel Ali, 2 to 4 weeks depending on size and finish.
  6. Graphics print and test build, 4 to 6 days. Assembling the stand in the workshop catches clashes before the truck leaves.
  7. Install on site, 1 to 3 nights. Overtime outside standard hall hours is charged hourly, often AED 250 to 500 per worker per hour.
  8. Dismantle and clear the space, 1 night, with waste removed to venue rules.

Rush fees come from this schedule being compressed. Cutting a week out of production typically adds 15 to 25 percent, because the workshop runs extra shifts.

Five ways to cut exhibition stand cost without looking cheap

You can reduce the invoice without the stand looking like a bargain build.

  1. Build a modular system you can reuse. Wall panels, ceiling grids and counters that break down into crates cut the second and third show by 40 to 60 percent.
  2. Work with a custom exhibition stand builder Dubai teams can audit. A builder with its own workshop does not add a subcontractor margin you never see on the drawing.
  3. Reuse graphics on tension fabric. Reprint only the panel that carries the new product line.
  4. Book an off peak build slot. Midweek and early morning installs cost less in labour than the final night before opening.
  5. Keep one contractor from design to dismantle. Three suppliers means three sets of site visits and three chances of a gap between trades.

If you have a stand size and a show date, get an exhibition stand quote with both and we will price the same scope in one document.

Why a Jebel Ali joinery workshop changes the price

In house fabrication removes a subcontractor margin of about 20 to 35 percent, plus the waiting time that comes with it. It also means problems get solved in the workshop, not on the show floor at midnight.

Running our own bench, spray booth and CNC in Jebel Ali gives three practical advantages. A panel cut to the wrong size can be recut the same day. Spare panels, touch up paint and crates stay in one place between shows, which matters if you exhibit twice a year in Dubai. And the same team builds joinery for villas, apartments and custom wardrobes across Dubai, so you can read more interior and fit-out guides on the site.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an exhibition stand cost per square metre in Dubai?

Shell scheme in Dubai runs about AED 2,000 to 3,300 per sqm all in. Custom design and build runs about AED 6,000 to 10,000 per sqm at 9 sqm and AED 5,500 to 8,800 per sqm at 50 sqm. Add AED 2,500 to 8,000 for venue power and rigging.

What is the minimum budget for a custom exhibition stand in Dubai?

A simple 9 sqm custom stand with a back wall, counter, storage and basic lighting starts around AED 45,000 to 55,000 including install. Below that you are usually looking at a shell scheme with added graphics. Venue charges sit outside both figures.

How long does it take to design and build an exhibition stand in Dubai?

Eight to ten weeks is comfortable for a custom stand. Design and approvals take two to three weeks, fabrication three to four weeks, and site install two to four nights. Rush jobs can compress to four weeks with a 15 to 25 percent premium.

Can I reuse an exhibition stand for another show in Dubai?

Yes, if it is designed as a modular system from the start. Reusing the structure and most graphics typically saves 40 to 60 percent on the next show. We store the crates in Jebel Ali between events and refit new graphics for the next venue.

Is a shell scheme cheaper than a custom exhibition stand in Dubai?

Almost always, by three to four times on the same floor area. A 9 sqm shell scheme is around AED 18,000 to 30,000 all in against AED 55,000 to 90,000 for custom joinery. Choose shell scheme for a first show or a small footprint, and custom build when meetings, demos or brand presence drive the return.

Do I need approval for my stand design at Dubai World Trade Centre?

Yes. Technical drawings go to the venue around three to four weeks before build, and structural elements need sign off from an approved engineer. Late submissions attract express fees and can be rejected, so approvals sit early in our schedule.
